Volunteer, Alex Lichtenauer
Alex Lichtenauer currently attends Carroll Community College and is a graduate of the Shoshanna Cardin High School. If he were a vegetable, it would be spinach, and if he had a super-power it would be to teleport to different countries. When he needed service learning hours last semester for a class, he chose the Kayam Farm because it seemed like a nice community, it was close to his home, and he wanted to work outside and learn about farming. Alex, inspired by the work we are doing at Kayam, ended up coming many more hours than were required for his class. Through volunteering at Kayam, he learned the basics of sustainable gardening and confirmed that he wants to study environmental science and education. This spring he looks forward to training as a Kayam volunteer educator.
