100% OUTDOORS • MONTHLY • JEWISH CYCLES OF NATURE
Where Kids can be Kids, Have Fun, and Learn—OUTSIDE!
During this monthly experience, we will awaken our senses in the outdoors, learn about nature, and connect to our roots through storytelling, food, fire, music and ancient sacred skills. Our passionate, fun-loving, experienced outdoor educators guide participants through hands-on activities. Each month, we focus on a seasonal wilderness or farm skill that builds personal and collective growth, self-awareness and self-confidence, interconnectedness and responsibility.
Like a healthy fire, Fire Circle is the warm up to our Rite of Passage program. We integrate the rhythms of Jewish life and the Hebrew calendar with the cycles of nature and human development. The Rite of Passage program will focus on the internal aspects of becoming b’nai mitzvot and can serve as concurrent to a traditional B’nai Mitzvah or a stand-alone experience. It will center on practices and experiences that connect all participants more deeply to themselves, Jewish identity and the human and wild ecosystems in which they live.

This year our 100% outdoor, COVID-adapted program, will follow guidelines from the local health
department, CDC and the Maryland Dept of Health; as always, the health and safety of our participants and families remains our top priority! Pre-screening and temperature checks of all staff and participant upon arrival will be included this year. We recommend that parents and legal guardians of high-risk students consult with their child’s medical provider to assess their risk and determine if attendance is acceptable. We have invested in additional hand washing stations at each location and have hand-sanitizing products readily available and easily accessible for all participants and staff. All staff have completed comprehensive training and are prepared with the new CDC protocols and safety procedures. For in-depth information on our safety protocols, please click on the Health and Safety page.
Please note that NO sick participant or staff member may attend our programs.
