Adobe Brick Making Workshop

Come see the ancient and modern art of adobe brick making. Pearlstone is making thousands of adobe bricks to construct a natural amphitheater in 2023.

Join Us Sunday, November 6th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

The weather looks amazing to be outside together. We’ll share the story of our building and brickmaking process. Anyone who wants to get their hands Earthy can join us to make a few batches of bricks together.

What to Bring:
– Water
– Snacks
– Layered clothing (that may contact Earth)
– Closed-toe shoes
– Work gloves (optional)

What is Provided:
– Bathrooms
– Work gloves
– Brick making supplies

This workshop is led by beloved Pearlstone staff members Yossi Kuttler and Greg Strella.
Yossi Kuttler is leading Pearlstone’s adobe brickmaking process this fall. His natural building experience also includes timber framing!

Greg Strella is Pearlstone’s Director of Stewardship. His love of Earth (adobe, clay, dirt, soil) goes back twenty years to his training as a sculptor at MICA. For the last seven years he has helped lead the ecological restoration of Pearlstone’s 180-acre campus with an amazing team and community.

 

Who can come?
The first half of the workshop will be communicated more for adults and teenagers. 

Families are welcome to join with younger children. They can have a snack and hang out while we talk. 

The hands-on portion is fun and safe for all ages.
